The Prime Fifty Muscle and Strength Support Formula has been specifically developed for the needs of the over fifties. Maintaining muscle health is vital for movement and strength and this unique formula contains key nutritional ingredients to help keep your muscles in prime condition.

Whey Protein and Milk Protein
Protein is the most important nutrient for our muscles. Our muscles are always in a state of flux, both breaking down and also reforming new tissue. Protein is needed as the main building block of all our muscles, but also of other key tissues such as bones, blood and also hormones. Protein is made up of amino acid building blocks. Whey protein is considered to be the ‘best’ protein compared to the many, many other proteins available. This is because the whey protein contains the highest proportion of ‘essential’ amino acids i.e. those amino acids that cannot be synthesised in the body.

In addition, a pan European study involving the top protein scientists around the world also came together and agreed that whey protein was the best protein to combat muscle loss in ageing populations and this is why Prime Fifty have used it in this product.

Lactase
As both whey and milk protein contain some natural lactose, Prime Fifty has even added a healthy enzyme to the formulation to help with the digestion of lactose, which is present in all milk and dairy based products. Most people will have no problem with digesting milk and milk based products but as we know that ageing can bring on lactose intolerance with some people, then we have decided to add lactase to aid this digestion process, quite unique in this sort of product.

L-Leucine
One of the essential amino acids in particular called L-Leucine is a very special amino acid that has been shown to contribute to muscle health even more than any other and again Prime Fifty have used this rather special amino acid in their formula, as it is highly relevant to the ageing muscle.

Vitamin D, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium
On top of these so called macronutrients, we have used the combination of Vitamin D, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium too which all contribute to normal muscle function.

As protein synthesis is needed for muscle health and muscle maintenance, both zinc and also magnesium too have been formulated into this product as both have been proven to help with the ongoing synthesis of protein.

Other Age Relevant Ingredients Across the Prime Fifty Range
Finally, as with all Prime Fifty products, Vitamin D has been added for ongoing bone health.

Calcium too is present again to contribute to bone health but also helping normal muscle function too, relevant to this particular product.

Vitamin C is present for energy, the immune system, collagen formation and also to help protect cells from oxidative damage, something highly relevant to the ageing body.

Vitamin E is formulated across the Prime Fifty range as a further protectant from this cell damage caused by oxidative processes within the ageing body.

Vitamins B6 and B12 are used in all Prime Fifty products too , bringing a range of over 50’s relevant benefits such as red blood cell formation and contributing to normal levels of homocysteine.

Homocysteine is associated with cardiovascular problems and therefore it is important to maintain normal levels and not allow homocysteine to get too high.

Folate is also a Prime Fifty ingredient used across the entire product range, as folate also helps maintain normal levels of homocysteine. It also has other health benefits such as red blood cell formation and is involved in energy metabolism too.

Prime Fifty products also contain Zinc bringing a whole range of benefits including bone health, immunity and also cognitive benefits too. Like Vitamin C and E, Zinc is another active nutrient that plays a role in helping to combat oxidative stress which can damage cells, highly relevant to ageing processes.

As connective tissues, such as tendons and ligaments are important to look after as one ages, the Prime Fifty range also contains Copper which together with Vitamin C contributes to collagen formation and also to the maintenance of connective tissues.

Enhanced Bio-availability
Finally you will find that across the entire Prime Fifty range, we have formulated in certain minerals that are more soluble and therefore more bio-available than most, namely bis-glycinates. These are much more quickly absorbed than the more normal oxides and carbonates. In addition, we have included a patented ingredient called Bioperine too which has been proven in separate studies to also enhance the bio-availability of certain vitamins and minerals

Prime Fifty targets a specific health area BUT ALSO is formulated for general health benefits which are highly relevant to the ageing body too.
